Am I A Candidate?

You may be a candidate for a tooth-colored dental restoration if your tooth is:

  • Missing or requires extraction
  • Decayed
  • Cracked
  • Chipped
  • Fractured
  • Severely discolored or misshapen

The best candidates are otherwise in good general and oral health, without any periodontal infection around the treatment site. During your initial consultation, Dr. Rothenberg will examine your teeth and gums, review your dental records, and discuss your concerns to determine if a tooth-colored dental restoration is right for you.

Types Of Restorations

Dr. Rothenberg and his team offer a full suite of tooth-colored restorations, including:

  • Tooth-colored composite fillings: Dr. Rothenberg uses composite resin to fill the void following cavity treatment. Unlike metal fillings, these fillings give the teeth a natural, healthy look.
  • Dental bonding: Using the same composite resin material used to create tooth-colored fillings, Dr. Rothenberg can seal cracks and conceal chips.
  • Inlays and onlays: If your dental damage is too extensive for a filling, but not extensive enough to merit a dental crown, Dr. Rothenberg may recommend an inlay or onlay. These custom-made restorations restore the chewing surface of the tooth. An inlay covers only the center portion of the chewing surface, while an onlay covers the biting surface replacing the cusps, or raised sections.
  • Crowns: These tooth-colored caps cover the entire surface of the tooth, from the chewing surface to the gum line. They are used to fortify teeth following treatment for oral trauma, decay, or weakness from old large fillings. Implant-supported crowns can also replace missing teeth.
  • Bridges: If you are missing one or more teeth, Dr. Rothenberg can manufacture a tooth-colored dental bridge consisting of two dental crowns with one or more artificial teeth between them. Bridges can also replace missing teeth in conjunction with a dental implant.
  • Dentures: To replace all of your teeth.Dr. Rothenberg provides both traditional and implant-supported dentures.

The Process

Dr. Rothenberg will begin by treating the tooth. Once your tooth is ready for its restoration, Dr. Rothenberg will clean the tooth surface. For a filling or dental bonding, he will apply composite resin material, shape it, and harden it with a special light. If you require a crown, bridge, inlay, or onlay, Dr. Rothenberg can usually create and place your restoration in a single visit using his in-office CEREC® system.

If you require extraction and wish to replace your tooth with a dental implant. Dr. Rothenberg will create your custom restoration.
